Malawi: Director of TEVET Programmes Modesto Gomani was recently present at the Don Bosco Youth Technical Institute in Lilongwe. He was donating assorted learning equipment for the students of the technical institute
During the donation ceremony, Director Gomani said that quality skills and training are important for reaching the Malawi 2063 Vision. The Director of TEVET at Technical, Entrepreneurial, and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TEVETA) was extremely happy to be part of the donation.
He said that the donation was most timely. It comes at a time when there is a shortage of assorted technical learning equipment at Don Bosco. He also took the opportunity to ensure that it will enhance quality and add value to TEVETA programmes in the country.
The donation will help in creating more opportunities for the skilled labor population of the country. The members of staff and students at the Don Bosco Youth Technical Institute in Lilongwe were thankful for the donation.
They thanked the Director of TEVET, Modesto Gomani for helping the institution grow. The donation will promote Technical, Entrepreneurial, and Vocational Education and Training in Malawi.
Gomani further stated that the Malawi Vision 2063 is an inspiration for Malawian youth to be part of the country’s development agenda. He asserted that equipment donation plays an important role in achieving the 2063 Agenda.
“Quality training and skilled labor are essential,” he said, emphasizing the importance of innovation and the training process. The handover ceremony was attended by a variety of people who were dedicated to the same cause.
In his remarks, Ruud Rouvoet, representing the schools of the Netherlands, expressed gratitude for witnessing the donation reach the targeted students and pledged continued support to the institution.
The Provincial of Don Bosco Youth Technical Institute, Fr. Michael, described the donation as a great success and motivation for both students and teachers at the institute, projecting more skills training in Malawi.
The people of Malawi appreciated the Director and celebrated the inclusion of new gadgets and critical equipment for the institution. One of the social media users said, “This is amazing” while another said Gomani is doing a good job.
