Sensational music band of South Africa Mango Groove, rocked the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts on Sunday, Jan 12, 2025. The event is an annual celebration which was dedicated to commemorate their 40th anniversary.
The musical concert followed the theme of ‘Memories and Moments’ and amazed all with their lively pop and jazz performances at the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden.
Mango Groove’s iconic main vocalist – Claire Johnston expressed her gratitude and thanked all for joining them. According to her it was an unforgettable evening filled music and fun.
The band holds a long history of sold-out shows at the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts venue. And this year the show really came out as a very special and different production to be remembered for long.
Mango Groove also introduced their own merchandise including specially designed t-shirts and original vinyls, which were available at the concert.
Kirstenbosch’s very own retail nursery ‘Happy By Nature’ sponsored the Mango Groove show and set the stage. They created a jungle scene with indigenous South African Plants and the team carted the plants to the stage.
The memorable set for Mango Groove’s unforgettable performance was created by the horticulturist Victori and Landscape Architect Melanie.
This summer the famous SA band will celebrate the 40th anniversary at Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and other major centres. The group desires to explore the concerts in the greater South African Diaspora.
Moreover, the Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts will be observed till the end of March 2025.
Before Mango Groove’s concert the Kirstenbosch event observed the Cradle to the Cape Concert, The Rotary’s Christmas Carols at Kirstenbosch, Unity at Kirstenbosch, Goldfish and New Year’s Eve with Will Linley & Lloyiso in December 2024.
Earlier in January 2025, on day-05 Freshlyground & Congo Cowboys were observed. Then, next in line are Bok van Blerk & Elandre to be held on Jan 19 and Mafikizolo & Ross Learmonth to be observed on Jan 26.
The month of February is also completely booked with events considering The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra on Feb 02, Soul II Soul by Showtime on Feb 08, Matthew Mole on Feb 09, The Golden Oldies on Feb 16 and Stef Bos and friends to be held on Feb 23.
March will be the last month for the celebration of 40th anniversary of Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts. On Mar 02 Mi Casa will perform, Mandisi Dyantyis will held on Mar 09, and Watershed event on Mar 16.
Jeremy Loops will be observed on Mar 23, Goo Goo Dolls by AMP Events will be observed for two days on Mar 25 & 26. James Bay show by Breakout Events will be performed on Mar 27 and Ami Faku & Simmy will be observed on Mar 30.
