Kirstenbosch Summer Sunset Concerts is back and will be observed till March 30, 2025. This is the only place to be on a Sunday evening and is one of the best ways to experience the Cape Town.
It is an annually celebrated South Africa’s event which will feature the sensational music band Mango Groove and will remarks milestone with a one-night-only commemorating the 40th anniversary concert.
Since 1980s, as a household name, Mango Groove has been captivating audiences with their unique blend of marabi, kwela and pop rhythms that will create an unforgettable soundtrack to South African life.
The musical event will follow the theme ‘Memories and Moments’ which is more than a concert and is a celebratory journey through 40 years of hits, history and heart. The concert is scheduled to take place at the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden on Sunday, Jan 12, 2025.
Visitors can look forward to a magical evening picnic under the stars that is filled with the band’s timeless classics such as ‘Special Star’, ‘Dance Some More’ and ‘Moments Away’. The musical stage performances will also feature dazzling visuals, personal anecdotes, nostalgic memories and some delightful surprises.
Considering their upcoming concert, Mango Groove’s iconic main vocalist – Claire Johnston expressed on the memorable occasion, “40 years, what an incredible journey! We’re beyond excited to celebrate this milestone at a venue as special as Kirstenbosch that holds so many treasured memories for us.”
“This is not just about celebrating Mango Groove, it is about honouring South Africa’s journey and all the people who have supported and inspired us over the decades. Expect a night of joy, gratitude and togetherness,” she added.
Mango Groove will further commemorate the historic milestone and will launch an exclusive merchandise range at the event. Fans can look forward to limited-edition memorabilia, vinyl reissues, signed items and never-to-be-released-again collectables.
The band holds a long history of sold-out shows at the venue. And this year the show will really come out something as a very special and very different production to be remembered and a once-off event not to be missed.
As expected, all the hits and the usual Mango chaos, the show will hold loads of memories, visuals, anecdotes, the adorable Special Star Dancers, a huge production and a host of additional surprises. A big damn party!

Moreover, the Mango Groove will deliver their performances marking the 2025 Concert Tour ‘Memories and Moments’. This summer the musical band will be bringing the 40th Anniversary Concert to Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and other centres. The group is on a mission to explore a couple of concerts in the greater South African Diaspora.
