Zambia: Government has handed over a brand-new 1×3 classroom block to Nakatondo primary school. the officials have shared that the donation was made under the 2023 constituency development fund (CDF).
The CDF funds have been used by several communities to supplement the crucial infrastructure growth. The officials have further confirmed that the new classroom blocks will help in providing access to better education facilities.
The officials have shared that the leaders have shared that the members of the school management have shared that they are delighted with the new development. He also added that this will help in increasing the capacity of the organization for giving better education to loved ones.
The officials have shard that the classroom block is a state-of-the-art facility. The new facility is equipped with solar-powered lighting, office accommodation and fully furnished desks, revolutionising the teaching and learning experience.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Kaoma District Commissioner, Kashina Sheba emphasised the government’s commitment to providing adequate infrastructure for quality education, particularly for marginalized girls.
“This milestone reflects our dedication to creating conducive learning environments. We are confident this facility will significantly improve academic performance and provide opportunities for future generations,” Sheba stated.
Mangango Constituency Member of Parliament, Fred Mwene urged parents and guardians to prioritise education and refrain from engaging children in activities that discourage school attendance.
Further Mwene assured that every child of school going age in his constituency would have access to quality education. This is regardless of the fact what their socioeconomic they belong to.
Acting Kaoma Town Council Secretary, Aison Simwanda disclosed that K734,000 was spent on the classroom block and praised the quality of work done.
Further, Simwanda encouraged the community to safeguard the school against vandalism.
And District Education Board Secretary’s ( DEBs) representative, Kennedy Nyambe appealed for additional infrastructure, including teachers houses and a water reticulation system to replace contaminated shallow wells.
Further, Nyambe also requested for more desks to cater for the growing pupil population.
