Botswana: The Vice President of Botswana Ndaba Nkosinathi Gaolathe joined the members of the community to commemorate World AIDS Day. The day which is commemorated every year on December 1 brought members of the community together in Botswana.
The newly appointed Vice President of Botswana led the charge of the celebration. He had the opportunity to interact with and appreciate the leaders who have made the right against HIV AIDS a public initiative.
The members of the community have shared that it is important for the people to understand and honor the struggle of the people living with this disease. The people who have been diagnosed with this disease have to constantly receive support and treatment to lead a healthy life.
As such, it is important for all the members of the community to constantly take up regular check ups, tests and more to confirm their negetive status. If someone is positive, they are required to remain in touch with the healthcare authorities of Botswana.
The leader has said that the fight against HIV AIDS is a mandate on the whole community which they have to work towards as a unit. The officials have shared that it is important for the leadership to have support of organizational partnerships.
The Vice president of Botswana launched the commemoration of World AIDS Day under the theme “Take the rights Path”.
“Fellow citizens and friends of Botswana, it is important to recognize that all the success our country has realised in the fight against HIV/AIDS was possible because of partnerships.
The various organizations in Botswana are already hard at work creating awareness for the cause. They have taken the message of regular testing and support to several parts of Botswana
The Vice President has applauded the Civil Society of Botswana for their support to the fight against HIV/AIDS. The organizations include the community and faith – based organisations.
The Vice President has called for continuous support till the fight can be considered truly over.

Ndaba Nkosinathi Gaolathe said that the people of the country should constantly work towards their dreams. HIV diagnosis can take zeal and excitement out of life for many people as such the VP has urged the people to stay strong and strive for dreams.
