Nigeria: Netflix, one of the oldest and most popular streaming platforms in the world has been facing rumours about their alleged exit from the Nigerian Streaming Market. The management of Netflix Nigeria had denied these rumours and assured their audience of their continued presence.

The rumours started to circulate after the remarks of a Naija Filmmaker Kunle Afolayan during the 2024 Zuma International Film Festival. He had informed the media that the streaming platform had cancelled a 3 year old contract with the filmmaker.
The filmmaker had expressed his concern on the streaming giant’s plan for their future in the country. Many publications started speculations on the departure of the organization from the country based on this comment from the filmmaker.
