Zambia: Residents of Kafue District in Lusaka Province have commended the government for taking the initiative to construct Kafue Main Police Station. The establishment was made at a cost of 2.4 million kwacha.

Kafue Main Police station is one of the highlights of Constituency Development Fund (CDF) success stories in the year 2023. The CDF has helped the district administrations across the country in constructing several important forms of infrastructures.

Residents feel a sense of enhanced security following the construction of the police station.

One of the residents of Kafue District Olingtone Mbwela shared his views about the new development, He expressed satisfaction with the improved services offered by the Zambia Police Service in the district.

Meanwhile, Mbwela thanked government for the enhanced CDF which has resulted in infrastructure development throughout the country.

Mbwela also said the newly constructed police station is a much-improved structure compared to the previous police station.  The improved infrastructure will help the police force of the district function more efficiently, thus maintaining peace.

“This place is nice. It is my second visit. So, when I compare it with the old place, this one is way better,” The resident said.

Meanwhile another resident, Linda Jamu applauded government for the construction of the police station.

Ms Jamu described as drastic change between the old and the new structure.

“There is a huge change between the old and the new main police station. Government deserves commendation for this effort.

Meanwhile Kafue District Commissioner Maurice Hikapulwe said the Main Police Station has enhanced security in the district.

Hikapulwe said the old police station was built in the 1950s and since then it has not been renovated. The update and renovation of the structure have helped in increase the morale of the community.

The new facility consists of modern equipment and facilities for the protection of the people of the country. Previously, the president of the country handed over police vehicles to many forces across the country.

These police vehicles were also bought using the Constituency Development Fund and have helped the police force tremendously. This is another proof of the success of the CDF initiative.
