Kenya Drylands Education Fund (KDEF) has nominated Musa Johan Lette, a rising student from one of Kenya’s leading institutions, for an annual scholarship.
As per reports, Johan is a pupil of Alliance High School Rungiri and belongs to the Ngurunit village of Samburu County.
Kenya Drylands Education, while sharing Musa Johan’s story, highlighted his Academic achievements and honoured him for his contributions to the co-curricular activities in school.
Musa is a KDEF scholarship recipient and a rising Form 3 student at Alliance High School. He hails from the remote village of Ngurunit and spent his childhood in the Ndotto mountain range.
Musa’s Childhood experience has uniquely prepared him for success in athletics. As per the Organisation, he has not only performed well in academics but has also achieved well in his career’s co-curricular aspects.
In 2023, he earned the title of the top junior athlete (Form one and two combined) and excelled in various track and field events. He secured victories in the 400 meters, 200 meters, and 10,000 meters.
Notably, Musa has contributed his efforts to the football and volleyball teams in school and has also showcased his skills in the high jump and javelin.
Kenya Drylands Education Fund awards 50 high school scholarships to students annually. This time, the Organisation has selected some students from Marsabit and Samburu Counties.
The Students have been enlisted for their academic excellence and potential. The Organisation has also taken care of the financial needs of the students to fulfil their dreams. Musa is among the students selected for the scholarship in January 2024.
Reportedly, Kenya Drylands Education Fund is a Non-Profitable and Non-Governmental Organisation. It works to enhance and improve the nation’s education sector and ensures that every student has access to education to fulfil their dreams.
Recently, the KDEF has also spotlighted another student, Elizabeth Leiyagu. She has been selected by Asheshi University to complete her postsecondary education. KDEF has continued its efforts to provide students the support and resources required.
