Zambia: One female passenger has lost her life in a road traffic accident on Tuesday. The accident happened at Itezhi Tezhi junction along the Mumbwa-Kaoma road.
In the same road traffic accident, 13 people have also sustained several injuries. The police officers have been informed about the incident and the casualties. The Police officers have started their investigation into the road traffic accident.
The incident sheds light on the situation of the roads in the various communities. Officials have shared that it is important for the road users to make sure that they are cautious in using these roads.

The Central Province Police Commissioner, Charity Munganga, has confirmed the development. He informed the members of the media and shared and identified the deceased as Angela Zulu and her age is not confirmed yet.
After the accident, near Itezhi Tezhi junction all the victims had been taken to the hospital. The authorities have shared that the victim died as she was being rushed to Mumbwa District Hospital. Some of the injured passengers, including the driver of the mini bus also received medical attention at this hospital
One of the injured passengers received treatment at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) in Lusaka for specialised treatment.
She explained that the accident happened at approximately at 17:45 hours. At the time of the road traffic accident, the Toyota Hiace mini bus that had 14 people on board. The vehicle lost control and careered off the road due to excessive speed.
Police Commissioner Munganga explained that the passengers on the bus were coming from Chunga Wildlife Training School. All the passengers had been attending the a pass-out parade at the training school yesterday.
The vehicle had the registration number AEB 4591, and it was being driven by Kendrick Kasongo aged 45, of Obama Area in Lusaka, had its roof depressed and windscreen shattered.
