Mauritius: The Prime Minister of Mauritius, Pravind Kumar Jugnauth has honored the lives which were lost in the flash floods of 2013. The natural disaster marks its 11th anniversary on March 30, 2024.

To mark the tragic event, the Prime Minister of the country, Pravind Kumar Jugnauth extended his heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of people who lost their lives. He visited the site of the tragedy and laid a wreath at the Remembrance Stele at the Port Louis Waterfront.
The day was tragic for the people of the country as many families have lost their loved ones in the incident. The officials have shared that the anniversary of the tragic day is celebrated every year, and the leadership is convening to pay their respects.
The officials shared that the people of the country can also pay their respects to the departed souls at the Remembrance Stele. The country’s Prime Minister was accompanying a number of government officials who also paid their respects at the site.

The Lord Mayor of the Municipal City Council of Port Louis, Mamode Issop Nujuraully.
The family members of the deceased persons were also present at the event to commemorate the significant tragedy. They also laid wreaths at the Stele to honour the memory of the flash flood victims.
A solemn religious ceremony was also held on the occasion. After the ceremony, the Prime Minister met the family members of the victims of the flash flood. He delivered his condolences and committed his support to the family.
It is recalled that 11 persons died during the flash floods. The people of the country have expressed their sincere appreciation for the country’s administration.
