Dominica: Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit attended the AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF2025) and met with regional leaders in Grenada. There he engaged in high-level discussions with regional leaders and took part in a panel focused on advancing economic integration across Africa and the Caribbean.
Reportedly, the panel discussion was based on the New World Order that provided an opportunity for strengthening Africa-Caribbean Trade, Investment and Cultural Relations.
At ACTIF2025 Prime Minister Skerrit spoke alongside the fellow Caribbean leaders including Prime Minister of Barbados – Mia Mottley, Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis – Dr. Terrance Drew, Prime Minister of Saint Lucia – Philip J. Pierre and President of Guyana – Mohamed Irfaan Ali.
The leaders from Africa included high-level representatives from Rwanda, Zambia, Chad and Tanzania who also joined the session on Monday. It was a high-level event which was hosted at the Radisson Conference Centre in St. George’s.
This brought together over 800 delegates from 70 countries, which included Heads of State and Government, along with Business Leaders and Regional Development Partners, to explore new opportunities in trade, investment and cultural cooperation between Africa and the Caribbean.
Notably, ACTIF2025 builds upon the successes of prior forums and the landmark Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2024 between the African Union Commission and the CARICOM Secretariat as well as the recent investments made by the Afreximbank.
This has committed more than USD 3.5 billion in transactions across the Caribbean including a regional trade office established in Barbados.
Considering this, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit shared the glimpses from his tour to ACTIF2025 event and from the Office of the Prime Minister of Grenada and expressed his happiness. He said that he is in Grenada for the AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF2025).
PM Skerrit said that the leaders from Africa and the Caribbean have convened to strengthen trade, investment and solidarity. He further added that he is proud to be part of the important forum as together they shape a path to shared prosperity.
