Dominica: Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit met the port workers of the country on Tuesday. The meeting was hosted to engage the Port workers in making efforts to promote the tourism of Dominica.
The Prime Minister’s meeting with the people was proof of Dr Skerrit’s dedication to developing the tourism sector of Dominica. He shared a short video of the meeting on his social media.
The meeting showed a group of port workers interacting with PM Skerrit on important issues.
Notably, the meeting was hosted ahead of the official groundbreaking ceremony of the Portsmouth Marina. The groundbreaking ceremony for the Portsmouth Marina was announced during the GIS National Focus, which aired on April 30.
The ceremony is scheduled for May 25. Additionally, in the same broadcast, he also announced the governments plans for a Marina in Roseau South Constituency.
The members of the government have started discussions on the idea already. He also highlighted plans for construction of a cruise village and a new cargo port.
These new developments are expected to be placed at the Canefield Industrial Site. The meeting hosted by the Prime Minister was a resounding success. Notably, the members of the community have also appreciated the Prime Minister for taking the initiative to meet the port workers.
The meeting solidified the workers role in the development of the country’s tourism sector. The ports of Dominica have been welcoming hundreds and thousands of tourists to the islands shores.
