St Kitts: PM Terrance Drew has asked the people of St Kitts and Nevis to give him the details about children who need treatment overseas. The treatment must be prescribed by the doctors treating the said child.
The Prime Minister encouraged the families that need assistance and support to apply to the children’s assistance fund. The prime minister, who handles the responsibility for the ministry of health, has been dedicated to working for the benefit of the people.
The children’s assistance fund has been one of the first initiatives taken up by the Prime Minister. The Programme has helped several children who were in urgent need of treatment.
The approach has given families access to life-saving treatment for their children. The people of the country are appreciating the administration for the efforts that they have put into their situation. The fund was announced by the administration in October 2022.
The aim of the prime minister is to make sure that any families that need assistance in accessing healthcare for their children must not be denied the opportunity. According to him, children should not be denied medical help due to the financial incapability of the children. PM Terrance Drew made the announcement in a press conference.
The first child in the country who received treatment under the initiative started his treatment on Saturday, October 15, 2022. The child started his ten month chemotherapy and other medical treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Barbados.
Afterwards, the initiative helped two other children in receiving the lifesaving treatment. The Prime Minister personally met these children’s families and parents. During these meetings, he assured the parents of the government’s constant support.
The People of St Kittts and Nevis have appreciated PM Terrance Drew for his initiative. The social media of PM Drew was full of applause for the leader as he prioritized the wellbeing of the people in the Twin Islands.
