St Kitts and Nevis: The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew met a number of international leaders 79th United Nations General Assembly. The annual international event is attended by a number of leaders from all over the world.
The UN General Assembly has, since its commencement, served as a platform to promote international cooperation and goodwill. The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, who is currently in New York for the assembly met Dr. Benedict Oramah, President of the African Export Import Bank – Afreximbank.
PM Drew welcomed Dr Oramah to the Mission of St Kitts and Nevis in New York. AFREXIM Bank has been working with CARICOM to benefit both the Caribbean region and the African Continent.
The member states of the Caribbean Community have received significant investment and development support from Afreximbank, The aim of Dr Drew’s meeting with the Bank’s President was to discuss collaboration and investment opportunities for his nation.
The Prime Minister was at the time, accompanied by a delegation of St Kitts and Nevis Representatives. They discussed number of critical investment ventures that are available in St Kitts and Nevis.
During the meeting, Dr Terrance Drew and Dr. Benedict Oramah, President of the African Export Import Bank – Afreximbank reflected on the need to strengthen the collaborative efforts between Africa and the Caribbean.
The Prime Minister believes that the collaboration will help in ensuring that both the Caribbean and Africa can benefit. PM Drew took to his social media to share some images from the crucial meeting and reflected on the topics of discussion.
The Prime Minister had the opportunity to give Dr Oramah a detailed insight into the investment opportunities within St Kitts. The meeting, hosted on Monday ahead of the official opening of the 79th United Nations General Assembly is being hailed as a step in the right direction for St Kitts and Nevis.
