St Kitts and Nevis: The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Dr Terrance Drew met with the students of St Kitts and Nevis who are receiving their education at the University of the West Indies (UWI). The meeting was hosted on the sidelines of the meeting of the CARICOM Heads of State.
PM Drew shared that he had the opportunity to give the students the perfect opportunity to share their views on the matters concerning the developments in the federation. The officials have shared that it is important for the students to have access to their leadership.
As such, the meeting was attended by several officers, who had accompanied Prime Minister Drew to the meeting. During his interaction with the students, the Prime Minister asked them to work hard on their education.
He also called on the students to use the platform wisely to make regional connections that would help them in the future. The Prime Minister said that it is crucial for the students to constantly working hard in their education.
He urged them to return to St Kitts and Nevis after their education so that they can give back to their community. The administration has taken several steps to make sure that education is provided to all the students.
The administration has made college level education free for students in the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College in St Kitts. Further, the administration has also reduced interest rates on education loans.
These initiatives have helped the students become relieved of the financial burden of education and focus on the learning part. During his meeting with the students, at the University of West Indies (UWI), PM Terrance Drew announced that they will continue to provide education opportunities to students.
This will help make their future more secure and prosperous. PM Terrance Drew has promised that with the prioritization of education, St Kitts and Nevis is advancing towards becoming a Sustainable Island State.
