St Kitts and Nevis: The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew has extended his solidarity to the fight against breast cancer. PM Drew and his wife, Jameisha Prince Drew participated in the Essence of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation’s annual Pink Walk.
The annual event is aimed towards spreading awareness regarding breast cancer and related illnesses. The Pink Walk is an annual event which seeks to increase awareness among youngsters of the nation.
The officials have shared the images from the health walk on their social media account. The event sought to bring the people of the island together for the cause.
The members of the community have shared that it is important for the people of the nation to make sure that those struggling with the cancer can feel the support and encouragement of the community members.
The PM shared that the event was also a platform for the people of the country to learn about Breast Cancer. The event was also a platform to dissipate information about how one can deal with the disease.
To prevent late diagnosis of the disease, the people of the country have to follow some steps, such as self screenings, regular checkups with the doctors. The Breast Cancer is one of the most common cause of cancer in the world.
The disease has claimed several lives, which could have been prevented with early diagnosis and treatments. The Prime Minister has urged the members of the community to take this issue seriously.

The Prime Minister also acknowledged that the cancer disproportionately affects the women. Accordingly, he said that these health walks will help in ensuring awareness can be raised for the benefit of the people. The Pink walk will also help in raising awareness regarding the cancer.
