St Kitts and Nevis: The Prime Minister of St kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew and Premier of Nevis, Mark Brantley, led the Federal Cabinet and the Cabinet of NIA for the first joint cabinet meeting of the year. The Prime Minister and the Premier of Nevis hosted the joint sitting of the cabinets to promote unity and collaboration.
The aim of the meeting was to allow the leadership of the nation to work together and make progress on national goals. The first joint cabinet meeting of the year was used as a platform for several important discussions.
The two leaders, PM Drew and Premier Brantley discussed economic diversification, crime reduction, energy security and more. These areas of national development needed were discussed at length during the first joint cabinet.
Both the federal government and NIA needs to weigh in on the future course of action on these issues and share their own plans. After initial discussion, both the administrative bodies shared their plans on how they can tackle these issues together.
The Prime Minister shared some images from the joint cabinet meeting on his social media account. He said that the areas under discussion affected both the sister islands within the federation.
As such, the federal government and the NIA need to find ways to work in smooth collaboration. One of the most important issues that was under discussion during the meeting was the development of geothermal energy.
PM Dr Terrance Drew believes that the development of geothermal energy has the potential to revolutionize the federation. The development can transform the economy of the country to a huge extent.
Further, the officials can also help in meeting the mandate of transforming St Kitts and Nevis into a sustainable island state.
The current generation’s efforts towards climate resilience and green energy transformation can help secure the future of generations to come. The Prime Minister said that for the bright future of the federation, the leadership has to work together.
A call was made for the two administrative bodies let their political differences aside and come together to work for the nation.
