Malawi, East Africa: Spotify has released annual “Wrapped” reports for artists. This time, the Wrapped reports have broken down the live stream and listener stats record.
Emerging artist Pop Young has made great history in his musical rapping career. The artist has secured over one million views on Spotify, which is higher among other African artists on the Internet.
As per this year’s reports, More than ten Malawi artists have successfully secured over one million streams and listeners on streaming and listeners this year. Africa’s famous pop singer and Rapper, Onesimus Muzik, has stood first in the list, securing 2.8 Million streams with 247K listeners across 177 Countries.
Further, the list features artists like Kelivin’s songs, Zeze Kingston, Pop Young, and many more. The list of the million+ streams also includes Phyzix, Theresa Phondo, Beracah and Pop Young.
Here’s the list of some of the most streamed artists in Malawi 2023:-
- Onesimus Muzik: Stood first in the Wrapped report 2023; secured 2.8 streams in 177 countries, 247.2k listeners.
- Kelvin Songs: stood second with 1.8 streams across 162 countries and 113.6k listeners.
- Zeze Kingston: Secured 1.7 streams in 161 countries, having 121.1k listeners.
- Pop Young: 1 million streams in 171 countries, with 150.3k listeners
- Theresa Phondo: 1.3 million streams in 181 countries with 305k listeners
- Phyzix: 1.3 million streams in 161 countries, 120.6k listeners
- Beracah: 1.5 million streams in 159 countries, 93.7k listeners
This time, some other artists may also be included in the list. These include Kell Kay, Driemo, ELI Njuchi, Suffix Saint-Realest, etc. However, the specifics are not known.
This year is the first time Malawi has over ten artists getting 1 Million plus streams on Spotify.
Meanwhile, The above list has suspected that this time, Spotify has listed more than ten artists, which is far higher than the previous reports’ stats. However, this is a matter of great pride and achievement for Africans.
