Kenya: President Cyril Ramaphosa will update Parliament on March 11, 2025 among other developments, and efforts by the Government to leverage infrastructure expansion for economic growth and South Africa’s approach to international relations.
Ramaphosa will engage with the National Assembly on the issues when he will respond to the questions for Oral Reply at the National Assembly in the Parliament, Cape Town. The President will brief the Parliament on the importance of infrastructure in enhancing the economic growth.
Reportedly, in February 2025 State of the Nation Address (SoNA), President Cyril Ramaphosa outlined numerous of infrastructure projects coming underway across the country as part of the infrastructure development drive by the Government.
Considering the official addressal, President Ramaphosa will also reflect on international relations of South Africa and efforts to strengthen the diplomatic and economic relations.
Notably, the President will also update the nation on the security situation and issues in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
Moreover, other replies by the President of South Africa will touch on racism and inequality, and the Graduate Recruitment Drive in the public sector to improve the efficiency and service delivery.
President Cyril Ramaphosa 2025 SoNA Address
President Cyril Ramaphosa, in the 2025 State of The Nation Address (SoNA), announced the plans to build on recent successes in removing blockages to economic growth in South Africa, in order to lift economic expansion to above 3% and create a virtuous cycle of investment, growth and jobs.
He expressed that this aim can be achieved, as it replicates the successes of partnerships to restore energy security and rail freight is possible if government moves with urgency on its plans to facilitate private sector investment in economic infrastructure.
The efforts were announced to reform the public service and build the capability of the state are key. Economic and Social development in South Africa will not take-off without a ‘government that works for the people’, and can be pragmatic and responsive to the needs of business and investors, that efficiently implement supportive government policies and programmes.
At present, South Africa is hosting G20 Presidency and the B20, which is an opportunity to promote the country as a business and investment destination, to lead it on global economic challenges such as international financial stability, climate change mitigation, financial inclusion and sustainable development among others.
