Zambia: A prominent Mazabuka based Architect, Mwaba Lengwe has been found dead in an unused restaurant in the Central Business District. The restaurant was not allegedly open for business when the incident happened.
Some social media users speculated that the deceased was working in the restaurant. The people of the community realized there was something fishy about the otherwise abandoned building on Monday.
At the time, a strong and pungent smell started coming from the premises of the restaurant and the communities ventured into the building to investigate. The witnesses claim that the remains of the deceased were found in a decomposed state.
The discovery was made by his business partners when they experienced a pungent smell and flies oozing off the building. The health officials were the first on the scene to see the deceased’s body. The officials broke in and fumigated the locked room where the dead body was lying.
Notably, since the body had started decomposing, there is a chance that the death happened at least a day before the discovery was made. According to the reports of the witnesses who were present at the scene, the remains were discovered naked, lying on the floor while facing upward.
The family members of the deceased have been contacted for their reactions and comment.
Confirming the development, young brother to the deceased Anthony Chibale Lengwe described the death of his elder sibling as devastating. He lamented that he was only informed by the deceased’s business partners that his brother was found dead.
He however, says that the family wants to know the cause of death stressing that that is when they will decide the next course of action.
Southern Province Deputy Commissioner of Police, Moono Namalongo also confirmed to incidence in a statement. Meanwhile, the people of the community, who knew about the deceased personally or professionally extended their condolences.
The people claimed that they will miss Mwaba Lengwe, saying that the man always wore a smile on his face. Further, another social media user said.
