Zimbabwe: A lady got injured badly in a road accident and is now appealing for financial assistance to meet medical expenses after surviving through life-threatening spinal injuries.
The lady was identified as Rashael Konde. She is twenty-seven years old and is a mother of two children.
As per the sources, Konde was injured in Chegutu, and currently, she is bedridden at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital in Harare.
In an accident, the lady fractured her spine from the area just below the neck and is now awaiting to be diagnosed with a life-saving operation.
Reportedly, Konde needs to have a metal plate that has to be inserted in her spine so that she can have a chance to walk again. However, for the surgery, she needs US $3,200, which she does not have yet.
The victim appealed to the people and requested to help her. While pleading, she said, “I am appealing to well-wishers to assist me with raising the US $3,200 needed by the doctors to perform the surgery.”
She mentioned that the longer it takes to do the surgery, her chances of walking will decrease gradually. “The longer I take to have this surgery, the lower my chances of ever walking,” added Konde.
Rashael Konde hopes that the people of Zimbabwe her plea and will respond positively, “If they discharge me without the operation, I might not survive. I pray that Zimbabweans out there will hear my plea and come to my rescue.”
As per the narration recorded by the Zimbabwe Police, since the day of the road accident, Konde has lost sensation and is not able to feel anything from the area down the chest. Considering her severe injury, doctors have warned her and told her that the surgery is the only hope for her to recover and to walk again.
