South Africa: Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a case this morning on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. The Unit was approached by a female identifying herself as a family of a missing twenty-year-old South African trainee Pilot.
The woman informed the Reaction Unit Officers that she saw a post on the RUSA Facebook Page and was certain that the body which they recovered was of a family member.
However, the brightly coloured pink hair was described on the post as reported by the attending Reaction Officers.
Reportedly, the recovered body was believed to be of a Trainee Pilot from Ethekweni, KwaZulu Natal. In the video shared by RUSA, it can be seen clearly that the crime scene location in Canelands of KwaZulu Natal, the body was recognised of a partially clothed female, who was believed to be raped then murdered and was recovered in the vicinity, last Tuesday night.
According to the woman who called up, the missing female was from Eastern Cape and had relocated to the Ethekweni region to complete her Training of Pilot at Virginia Airfield in Durban North of KwaZulu Natal.
Notably, the female pilot was reported missing at South African Police Service (SAPS) of Sydenham OB 1129/07/2024 after she left a tavern with an unknown male on Saturday morning on July 13, 2024. Since then, she has not been seen after that.
Following this, the family members are currently making attempts to contact the Investigating Officer to assist in the identification of the body.
A farmer while patrolling his property last night, made a discovery. He noticed a pair of human legs protruding from a bush & contacted the RUSA Headquarters.
Reaction officers then responded and found the female with her hands bounded and naked from the waist down. The farmer found that her body was partially wrapped in blankets with visible injuries. But the identity of the deceased has not been confirmed yet.
