Red Arrows Shine in Lambaland MTB Challenge in Zambia

Zambia: The Red Arrows Cycling Club (RACC) has participated in the Lambaland off road mountain bike (MTB) competition in Masaiti Copperbelt province.

Zambia: The Red Arrows Cycling Club (RACC) has participated in the Lambaland off road mountain bike (MTB) competition in Masaiti Copperbelt province.

RACC scooped the first positions in the 70km senior female and amateur female competition challenge.

In the 35km senior women’s MTB race, RACC also took first place and came in second in the amateur male.

The overall winners for both males and females in the 70Km and 35Km MTB competition challenge were First Quantum Cycling Club.

Meanwhile, in the Master Senior 70Km MTB competition challenge, RACC came third. The riders who participated in their individual capacity took the first and second positions.

The competition that took place over the weekend has been conducted this time with the aim of promoting interaction across people of all works of life.

The teams that participated were RACC, First Quantum Cycling Club, Kitwe Cycling Club, Lilayi Cycling Club and other Cyclists from the Democratic Republic of Congo and many others who came in their individual capacity with the aim of maintaining fitness.

On the other hand, on Saturday, they also participated in the 2023 Independence Rugby Sevens (7s) Challenge took place on Saturday at the Chester Dean Showgrounds Main Arena.

It was a hot, heated tournament which saw both Red Arrows Airmen and Airwomen come out victorious against all odds.

The Red Arrows Women’s Rugby Club defeated the Green Eagles 12 – 0 in the final to win the Uhuru 7s Trophy and add to the National Rugby League trophy they won earlier.

Inspired by the Ladies, the Airmen thrashed Green Eagles 19 – 0 and were crowned champions of the tournament despite losing the first game 14 – 12 against home team Lusaka Powerhouse.

The 2023 Red Arrows Independence Sevens (7s) Rugby Challenge comprised 19 teams for both men and women from various parts of the country and beyond. The tournament also included Zimbabwean teams like Mutare Rugby Club, Harare Sports Club and Zimbiru Rugby Club who lost to Arrows in the semi finals 45 – 0.
