Zambia: Two people have died in an accident which happened at the Munyu Mabisi region, which is 25 kilometers from Monze district. One of the deceased has been identified as Sam Mbanga, 38, of Monze College area.
The deceased victim was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. He was at the time accompanying another victim, a female passenger. Both the victims were taken to the hospital but the male victim was pronounced dead by the paramedic team on the scene of the accident.
The vehicle belonging to the deceased victoms has been identified as a Toyota Hilux. The officials have confirmed that a Howo truck was also involved in the accident
The officials have shared that the female passenger sustained head and body injuries after the accident. She was also pronounced dead upon arrival at Monze Mission Hospital and has not yet been identified.
A third passenger in the Toyota Hilux sustained a fractured right leg and a cut on the forehead and is currently receiving treatment at Monze District Mission Hospital.
The bodies have been deposited at Monze Hospital Mortuary and are currently awaiting postmortem. The Police officers have started the investigation into the matter and have also alerted the media regarding the situation.
Southern Province Police Commissioner Auxensio Daka told Byta FM Zambia News that the accident happened when the Howo truck  driver Mwansa Kalonga misjudged the clearance distance and speed of the Toyota Hilux driven by Mbanga, hitting it from behind.
Due to the impact, the Toyota Hilux collided with a Howo truck in front, which then hit another Howo truck. The occupants of the other vehicle, the Howo truck have also sustained some non threatening injuries.
Mwansa Kalonga, a 37 year old resident of Lusaka, who was driving the Howo truck with registration numbers CAC 4644 ZM and CAC 4666 ZM, sustained cuts on the face and legs and is also receiving treatment at the same facility.
A passenger in the Howo truck, identified as Tieka Nkhoma, 23, of Lusaka, sustained general body pains and is admitted to the same hospital.
