Robbery Suspect/Robbery Victim Killed: Umhlanga – KZN

South Africa: A robbery victim and his attacker were both killed after they were run over by a motor vehicle on the M41 in Umhlanga - KZN earlier this morning (Sunday).

South Africa: A robbery victim and his attacker were both killed after they were run over by a motor vehicle on the M41 in Umhlanga – KZN earlier this morning (Sunday).

Passing motorists contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) at approximately 01:41, requesting immediate assistance after several vehicles drove over a pedestrian. RUSA Members were dispatched to the scene and, on arrival, discovered the bodies of two men approximately 30 metres apart.

Reaction Officers were approached by a member of the public who explained that one of the deceased was a friend. The two attended their company year end function in Umhlanga – KZN.

They were returning home when they were dropped off on the M41 in the vicinity of Umhlanga – KZN after the vehicle they were travelling in experienced mechanical failure.

The two men were approached by four suspects who attempted to rob them. The victims fled in different directions while being pursued by their attackers. His friend and one of the suspects were run over in the process. Multiple vehicles thereafter drove over the victim.

The South African Police Service is investigating further.

On the same day, a 26 year old man was murdered while walking to his residence with his girlfriend in an area popularly known as Sand Pit in Redcliffe – KZN earlier this morning (Sunday).

The Verulam SAPS contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) at approximately 01:21, requesting a Declaration Of Death for the victim. On arrival, RUSA Medics discovered the lifeless body of a man on an unpaved pathway. He sustained a single stab wound to his chest.

According to his girlfriend, they were returning from a tavern when they were confronted by three men. One of the suspects produced a knife and stabbed the deceased before they fled on foot. The victim was still in possession of his valuables. She went on to explain that prior to leaving the tavern, her boyfriend had an altercation with another patron.

She was unable to confirm if it was the same individual who stabbed him.
