Runners are ready to run at World’s Most Beautiful ‘Two Oceans Marathon’ in Cape Town    

‘World’s Most Beautiful Marathon’ that consists of 56km track will follow a route which will take runners from Newlands to scenic glory in Muizenberg, and will also cover St James, Kalk Bay, famous Chapman’s Peak and Constantia, before finishing under the shadow of Table Mountain at UCT.

Cape Town: The City of Cape Town is all set for the Two Oceans Marathon. All the roads to south will lead to Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon for two days, this weekend.

The City of Cape Town has geared up its services to provide the full support to the world’s most beautiful marathon.

Reportedly, a field of approximately 14,000 runners is expected to take to the start line of the Ultra Marathon on Saturday, April 13, 2024 whereas, 18,000 athletes will run for Half-Marathon on Sunday, April 14, 2024.

‘World’s Most Beautiful Marathon’ that consists of 56km track will follow a route which will take runners from Newlands to scenic glory in Muizenberg, and will also cover St James, Kalk Bay, famous Chapman’s Peak and Constantia, before finishing under the shadow of Table Mountain at UCT.

At 21.1km, the runners will also begin in Newlands, traversing a route that will take them through Claremont, Kenilworth, Wynberg and Constantia before finishing off at the rugby field of UCT.

The City of Cape Town will provide logistical support in the form of safety and security personnel to the event. It will also include the deployment of Traffic Services, Metro Police, Law Enforcement, Disaster Risk Management as well as Fire and Rescue Services.

Member of the Mayoral Committee for Safety and Security of Cape Town – Alderman JP Smith said that a lot of work has been done behind the scenes in implementing measures to ensure that the participants enjoy a smooth event experience, through a collaboration between the Events Coordination Committee of City of Cape Town and the Two Ocean Marathon organiser and other role players.

Alderman Smith has added that the city Cape Town has become a runner’s paradise and they are proud to be preferred as destination for road running, Two Oceans Marathon.

“We are proud to host world-class events where participants can enjoy a seamless experience. Our enforcement and emergency services personnel will be deployed along the race route to ensure the safety of the runners, spectators, and the general public,” said JP Smith.
