SA Army foundation bids farewell to Board Control Members

South Africa: On Monday the 03rd April 2023, the Board of Control for the SA Army Foundation bid adieu to four outgoing members who have over the years contributed tremendously towards its success. The special ceremony took place at SA Army Foundation Head Office in Clubview, Centurion, and it was the first ever of its kind in the antiquity of the SA Army Foundation.

South Africa: On Monday the 03rd April 2023, the Board of Control for the SA Army Foundation bid adieu to four outgoing members who have over the years contributed tremendously towards its success. The special ceremony took place at SA Army Foundation Head Office in Clubview, Centurion, and it was the first ever of its kind in the antiquity of the SA Army Foundation.

The Chairman of the Board of Control, Major General R.E. Mercuur extended gratitude to the soon to retire General Officer Commanding South African Army Armour Formation Brigadier General P.G. Mangana for his input and the role he played during his tenure as a serving board member.

The General Officer Commanding will formally relinquish his duties in the SA Army as the number one ‘Pantser Man’ on 30 April 2023. Through the immense contribution that he has made over the years, it is an indisputable fact the flame of the Armour will continue to burn forever and ever.

The other three former Board of Control members Major General M. Dyakopu, Brigadier Gen S.M. Maloma and Brigadier General A.M. Mahapa were also appreciated for their phenomenal work and good deeds when they were still part of steering the SA Army Foundation’s strategic direction.

During the ceremony, the spouses of the Board of Control members were also acknowledged for the immense and tremendous support they provided to their partners.

Lastly, the General Officer Commanding SA Army Engineer Formation Brigadier General C. Buyse, who had just celebrated his birthday, was bestowed with a gift for his birthday by the Deputy Chief Army Major General M. Dyakopu.
