In 2025, South African exports to Zimbabwe reached approximately US$4.30 billion, which highlights the significance of Zimbabwe as a key regional trading partner. The export portfolio was largely dominated by agricultural products and machinery, that reflects Zimbabwe’s demand for essential goods, that support its agricultural and industrial sectors. This trade relationship also supports economic growth in both countries and contributes to regional economic integration.
During the visit, discussions also explored opportunities to expand trade diversification, improve infrastructure connectivity, and facilitate smoother cross-border movement of goods and services. Both leaders acknowledged the need to address trade barriers and enhance cooperation in sectors such as energy, agriculture, and manufacturing.
President Ramaphosa’s visit reaffirms South Africa’s commitment to strengthen bilateral relations with Zimbabwe while advancing shared regional goals.
