South Africa: Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture in the government of South Africa, Zizi Kodwa, recently travelled to France to support the country’s National team in the Rugby World Cup 2023. The Minister was present at the semi-final match, where the Springboks (National Team of South Africa) defeated England on Saturday, October 21, 2023.
The Minister was delighted to witness the victory of the team. He even took to his official social media accounts to extend his support to the Springboks for the upcoming final games. He shared several heartwarming and supportive posts on the social media platform “X”, formerly known as Twitter.
The Springboks are preparing to face their final opponents, New Zealand, on Sunday, October 29, 2023. Here, the team would make a last bid for the 2023 Rugby World Cup. Meanwhile, the South African Minister of Minister of Sport, Arts et al. is working on fostering the relationships between South Africa and the rest of the world.
During the Semi-Final Match, the Minister met the Princess of Monaco, Charlene. She was accompanying her husband, the Prince of Monaco, to watch the semi-final match. The princess informed Minister Zizi Kodwa that she would like to work with the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture.
According to the update shared by the Department of Sports Arts and Culture, her foundation – “The Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation”, wants to work with the department on school sport and education.
Minister Zizi Kodwa and Princess Charlene have agreed to finalize an MoU by the end of November 2023. The collaboration between the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation and the sports department will give the children of the country access to better opportunities both in terms of sports and education.
The people of South Africa have expressed their delight in this development. A social media user even urged the Minister to return to South Africa soon and finalize the MoU for the oncoming collaboration.
