Zambia: The administration of Solwezi has started the construction of the ten point one kilometres (10.1 Km) township roads in North-western province. The construction of the project is being helped by JDCON Zambia construction company.
The administration is spending more than a total of two hundred million Kwacha on the project for the community. The construction of the project is expected to begin with more than one hundred people getting employment in various positions.
The officials have stated that it is important for the communities to have access to good quality roads connecting them. The travel and business acumen of the community will develop in a positive way with the help of better road infrastructure.
According to the authorities as well as the media, the road project in the township has been due and long-awaited. They are proud to announce that the work has started and the earth moving equipment is already on the site for construction.
The team is already working on the 5km stretch of the Zambia-Kimasala road. The administration is also getting regular updates on the construction progress.
JDCON Group of Companies Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Joseph Kabuswe has shared the progress on the construction project. He said that construction of the ten kilometres Solwezi township roads will be done all the while providing employment to the locals.
As such, this project will also help in improving the outflow of economic activities in the community. The workers can get employment in the construction of drainages, walk ways , road signs, street lights, among others.
The project is being constructed with the help and funding from the ministry of local government and rural development. Furthermore Local residents and motorists are also delighted with the project as the roads will become better.
Sebastian Mbambiko, who is a local and motorist, shared that the township roads in the district were in a bad state previously. He applauded the Government for the project that the construction of the road will help many in the area.
Further, Bishop Charles Kasonde of the diocese of Solwezi has urged the contractor to make sure that a good job is done.
