The forecasters predicted a weak cold front is expected in the west on Thursday, resulting in isolated storms over the central parts midweek and the far east again from Friday onwards.

MONDAY AND TUESDAY: Partly cloudy and cool with a high chance of widespread showers and thundershowers over most of the country, accompanied by moderate-to-intense rainfall in eastern Free State, eastern Eastern Cape, western Mpumalanga and western KwaZulu-Natal, but light elsewhere.

However, as per predictions, there will be a low chance of flooding in Free State. Both days are expected to remain partly cloudy without showers in the far west and far east while the system dominates the central interior.

WEDNESDAY: High chance of showers and thundershowers over the central interior with excessive rainfall generally over the central Highveld, leading to possible floods over Free State, eastern Eastern Cape and eastern North West, once again leaving the northern Bushveld and western Northern Cape partly cloudy to fine and warm.

THURSDAY AND FRIDAY: The system starts moving east, with overnight thunderstorms gracing the central interior on Thursday and redeveloping further east as the day progresses, resulting In widespread showers and thundershowers across the country, excluding only the west. Medium chance of intense rainfall over the eastern Free State and Mpumalanga on Thursday.

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY: As the system moves further east, intermittent thunderstorms will flow towards that direction as well, with moderate rainfall in the east but light over the central regions. Otherwise, fine and hot in the west throughout the weekend.
