Philippe Martinez, owner of MSR Media, issued a formal Legal Notice against some important people in the political and financial sphere of the Caribbean. The legal action came after he accused the individuals of causing financial damages to his company and the American investors.
The people whom the owner of MSR Media named in his legal notice are:
- Former Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Timothy Harris
- The former head of the Citizenship by Investment Unit of St Kitts and Nevis, Les Khan
- Ying Jin, CEO of the Caribbean Galaxy Real Estate Corporation.
MSR Media’s Philippe Martinez stated that the Former Prime Minister, along with his associates including Les Khan and Ying Jin committed financial fraud. He added that the fraud included the sale of CBI applications at a discounted price.
Martinez said that the three figures were involved in reducing the legal value of the CBI Shares. As per him, Timothy Harris sold shares of several CBI projects at a lower than the actual price through Ying Jin. The projects also include the high-profile prison project.
After the legal notice, the complexity of the situation around the prison project has increased. The legal notice from the MSR Media warned the three parties of an ongoing analysis of their public statements.
He warned Timothy Harris, Les Khan Ying Jin that all their public statements are being reviewed by their (MSR Media’s) investigative team based United States of America. Martinez further stated that they are conducting an in-depth analysis and reports will be handed over the US as well as UK government seeking a stringent action.
In their legal notice, he said that the trio had misrepresented the legal value of the CBI shares to the MSR Media and the other American investors, causing a huge financial damage. As per him, the trio also set up a fraudulent network to sell the shares at a much lower price than the legal numbers.
Further, the legal notice also shed a light about the controversial prison project. Philippe Martinez said that this struggle is not limited to local jurisdiction.
Meanwhile, amid all the chaos, the Caribbean Galaxy Real Estate has closed all their bank across Caribbean. The reports from investigations suggests that the company has moved their financial operations to Macau.
The action of the organization is leading to suspicion as it is not usual for a company based in Caribbean to move their financial operations to Asian business centre. The actions of the organization lead investigators to suspect the motives of the organization.
Further, MSR Media and the other individuals are involved in a online conflict. Taking advantage on the anonymity of the internet, the news, blog posts and social media have become a battlefield.
While these online clashes are not crucial in the long run for the outcome of the legal situation, they are proof of the intensity of the conflict between MSR media, Timothy Harris, Les Khan and Ying Jin.
According to the information, Martinez has also hired local political commentator Dwyer Astaphan on payroll to push his agenda in the country. Astaphan will be leading the campaign of Martinez against Les Khan, Ying Jin and Timothy Harris.
The partnership will lend a firm voice and more weight to Martinez’s claim. Astaphan may also affect the direction that the legal fight takes in the future.
