St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew has expressed his profound sadness on the incident of violence, which took place in St Peters, St Kitts and Nevis. Four residents of Monkey Hill Region in St Peters were victims of a violent crime.
When the information about the violent crime reached the Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, he immediately extended his condolences to the grieving families. Notably, PM Drew was celebrating his birthday at the time.
However, he stopped all the celebration in favour of personally meeting the victims’ families and becoming a part of their grief. Afterwards, the Minister of National Security addressed the people of the country on the severity of the situation.
The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis condemned the senseless act of violence in his address of the nation. He urged all the people of St Kitts and Nevis to come together to condemn the incident.
Meanwhile, he extended condolences to all the people of the country who were affected due to act of senseless violence. Dr Drew said that the government is doing everything in their power to put an end to such incidents.
The Prime Minister announced that it is important for the people to come together and find a solution for such incidents. The Prime Minister has been working together with the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force and other stakeholders towards this goal.
The Prime Minister also addressed the youngsters of the federation who are involved in the life of violence and crime. He urged that the youngsters must consider the path that they are on and mend their ways.
As the minister of National security, he urged them to put down their weapons and forsake violence. He announced that the people of St Kitts and Nevis must come together in undermining gun violence.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew said that it was their collective responsibility to create a safe environment were people can live in peace.
