Malawi: The Sun Group of Companies has officially announced the sponsorship of FCB Nyasa Big Bullets through its Water Refresh project. The one-year deal is worth K25 million.

FCB Nyasa Bullets is expected to save K21 million in bottled water expenses after signing a year-long sponsorship deal with Sun Group of Companies.

As per the sources, the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Sameer Ahmed made the announcement in Lilongwe on Friday, March 05, 2024.

The company has chosen the team for the project because of their brilliant past history in football and feels that they are the right club to promote their products and sports in the country.

Considering the deal, the CEO Sameer Ahmed further stated that this is a very strategic partnership worth K25 million a year. He added, “As an organisation, we have evolved over the years. We have a great social responsibility framework in helping communities.”

CEO Ahmed mentioned that they have established a huge opportunity to nurture sports in the nation. “We have decided to bring a new element in the framework and policy to contribute towards sports.”

“We could not find a better partnership than Bullets. We want to be associated with Bullets for many years to come, but for a start, we have signed a year-long contract,” said CEO Sameer Ahmed.

At the announcement ceremony, Bullets Chief Administration Officer (CAO) Albert Chigoga said that this is a motivation for the club as they were spending over 2.4 million kwacha per month to supply water to the four Bullets teams and officials.

CAO Chigoga said the sponsorship is a great relief as the club has spent about K21 million on bottled water for their four teams and the Sun Group of Companies.

He expressed, “We feel greatly honoured for the partnership. This means the K21 million that the club spends on consumption of water by the teams has been taken over by Sun Group, which means we will be thinking of how operationally we will use the money.”

Albert Chigoga said further that they would love to have many more partnerships to manage the teams because the budgets are really huge.

Since then, Chigoga has urged the club’s fans to patronise Sun Group products. He added, “We are promising that using Bullets’ popularity and the strength of the brand, we are going to promote the products on the market. We are going to enhance the competitive edge of the Sun Group on the market.”

Notably, Sun Group of Companies are the producers of Mulawe Cooking Oil, Refresh Bottled Water, Mulawe maize flour cream and Mulawe Soya Pieces.
