NSRI Warns of Dangerous Spring Tides as Full Moon Peaks on 5 January  

With these changes in water levels risks increase, particularly for those engaging in activities on or near the water such as rip currents, rip tides, coastal hiking hazards and fishing precautions.

NSRI alerts Cape Town residents of ‘Full Moon Spring Tide’

The advisory was issued by the NSRI due to the upcoming full moon spring tide which is set to peak on Wednesday, Jan 15, 2025.

City of Cape Town with NSRI disposed of a 35 ton Whale Carcass from Hout Bay 

The NSRI team worked alongside the Coastal Management officers of City of Cape Town to ensure the safe towing of the carcass.
