Traveller Chaz Wright completes trip from Cologne to Cape Town in Toyota Yaris

Ridiculous Road Trips, the travel and transportation company, has shared an experience of traveller Chaz Wright, who drove from Cologne to Cape Town in Toyota Yaris car.

Before travelling from one part of the world to another Wright has made some necessary modifications to the car. The modifications to the car costed him total around €100 that also included a Guinean 10cm car Jack up, the front wheel was upgraded to 14-15 inch, the front snow tyre was also upgraded and tinted windows were installed to keep the heat out of the car.

He added that people believe that a 4×4 gives you more freedom but in most cases, it is far from the truth.

Moreover, the traveller added that having an old car can’t be that much of a concern, and there’s no need to care about its damage, as you can park anywhere without concern, which is a real freedom.

Narrating his travel story, Chaz Wright also said that driving over verges and not caring if you roll it, is real freedom. He added that laughing with people at every stop is fun.

Considerably, the traveller’s small vehicle has made a big story for him. Chaz Wright further explained and advised us never to underestimate the fun and freedom of going raw and making the trip in an unsuitable vehicle.

Wright advised ensuring the car is a Toyota and you will never break down.

Notably, Chaz Wright’s trip was inspired by the ‘Less is More’ philosophy. He expressed, “Throwing money at every situation the western way is only buying you out of the very experience you came to have,” said the traveller.

He added that his car which us of €500 has now just been overhauled and is ready for the overlanding event in the Cape Town.

After a few weeks, the traveller will start heading east to drive back up the east coast of Africa.

It took the traveller 12 months to complete the trip without any breakdown. He faced only one puncture, and his car struck only four times during the trip, as mentioned by the traveller Chaz Wright.
