Dominica: The Government has appointed Treneese Hamilton and Stephan Pascal as Sports Ambassadors of Dominica. The athletes holded the command from Monday, Sept 01, 2025. They are recognised with this position to honour their notable accomplishments and contributions to sports.
As per the Prime Minister of Dominica, Treneese Hamilton will be given a housing lot. She will be issued a Diplomatic Passport also to support her International Travel while representing herself and Dominica, abroad.
Hamilton conquered a historic milestone for Dominica. She won the first-ever Gold Medal for the nation at the Junior Pan American Games, held in Paraguay. She made a record by throwing shot-put of 17.21 meters and listed her name in the women’s Shot-put.
Prime Minister Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit also congratulated both the athletes on their selection for Dominica Sports Ambassadors. He acknowledged their achievement and praise their dedication and discipline towards their game and their commitment towards making their nation proud.
Skerrit also appreciated Stephan Pascal, the first-ever player from Dominica to be selected as Captain for the West Indies Cricket Team. He made history by leading the team for Under-19 squad at the 2024 ICC Youth World Cup, hosted in South Africa.
The Government of Dominica confirmed that as an ambassador he will receive a monthly stipend, in addition to his ambassadorial duties. Providing him monthly stipend aims at assisting with expenses which is needed to advance his cricket career.
PM Skerrit stated that he commended these two outstanding athletes for their discipline and commitment. He extended gratitude on behalf of the federation and people of Dominica and wished them best in their sports career.
As per the Dominica Government, these appointments and the associated benefits provided to them are major part of broader strategy of this administration. Their objective is to recognise and support young athletes, to foster their development as role models and provide opportunities for excellence.
