Malawi: The Vice President of Malawi, Dr. Michael Usi travelled to Namibia to attend the official inauguration of the nation’s New President. The inauguration of President Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah is historic for the people of Namibia.
The officials have shared that this is an important milestone for the history of the nation. This is the first time that a female politician has taken the office of the President in Namibia.

Vice President Usi represented Malawi at the event and had the opportunity to personally congratulate the newly elected President.
Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah, the first female President of Namibia is a member of SWAPO party. She secured victory in the November elections with 57.31 percent of the vote, defeating 14 other candidates.
She won the elections and took office from interim President Nangolo Mbumba. Mbumba had assumed office after the death of President Hage Geingob in February 2024.
Her swearing-in is a historic moment for Namibia, as Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah becomes the country’s first female president.
