Cape Town: Wynberg Swimming Pool is reopening and the City of Cape Town would like to provide Ward 63 residents with an update regarding this. It has undergone through essential maintenance to ensure its safe and efficient operation.
The Swimming Pool was initially scheduled to reopen on Dec 31, 2024. Due to unforeseen delays, it will take approximately three days to completely fill the pool. The cleaning as well as testing and commissioning of the pool and its pipes will be carried out to ensure the highest standards of water quality.
Furthermore, the tile work for the main pool and kiddies pool was completed and the filling of the pools has begun now. Everything should be proceeded as planned. The Wynberg Swimming Pool is anticipated to reopen on Saturday, Jan 04, 2025.
Considering this, Member of the Mayoral Committee for Community Services and Health – Councillor Patricia Van der Ross said that the safety and quality of the swimming environment are the top priorities and they are working hard to complete all the necessary steps so that the pool can reopen as soon as possible.
The goal is to ensure that patrons have an enjoyable recreational experience. When the facility for the pool will reopen, they will remind all patrons that it is vital to adhere to lifeguards’ instructions for a safe swimming experience for everyone.
Moreover, Councillor Carmen Siebritz of local ward for Ward 63 stated that they know the pool is an important part of the community and they apologized for the delays also. He added that he and his team appreciate their patience as they work towards reopening.
