South Africa: 45 year old Mohamed Zahed was kidnapped by the occupants of a white mini bus taxi in Montford, Chatsworth – KZN. The kidnapping happened on Tuesday April 23 and the victim has been missing ever since.

The members of the victim’s family believe that Zahed has been murdered by the same individuals who abducted him. The nephew of the victim reached out to the Reaction Unit officers to assist them after the victim had not been returned after two weeks.

The nephew informed the reaction officers that the family believes that Zahed is dead and shared the last known details of the victim. The Reaction officers received a telephonic call from the family of the currently missing person.

In the said call, the reaction officers established that the residents of Chatsworth – KZN saw Zahed being assaulted on the night of the incident. He was subsequently forced into a white Toyota Quantum and taken away from the neighbourhood.

The neighbours have claimed that they know the identity of the suspects who assaulted the suspect and abducted him. They have shared that the victim can not be located ever since. Meanwhile, the Reaction Unit has also shared a video capturing the kidnapping of the victim.

The Reactuon officers have started their investigation into the matter and realized that the victim is a known drug user. He also has a prior criminal record wherein he was allegedly accused of theft.

It is believed that he was murdered and his body dumped by  the suspects who kidnapped him. However, the information was provided by Zahed’s family and cannot be confirmed by RUSA.

The authorities are currently investigating the incident as a missing case. Accordingly they have urged the members of the community to provide them with any new details that people have on the victim. They also urged them to share the post as much as possible and possibly reunite him with his family.

The people in the community have urged the Reaction Unit to continue looking into the matter. They want justice to be served and the victim to be reunited with his family.
