Dominica: Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica honoured the women who are excelling in their diverse areas of expertise on the event of International Women’s Day on March 8.
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit stated on his social media handle, “Today, we honoured women who care for the most vulnerable among us- our elderly, children, youth at-risk and the differently abled. We treasure your service to our people and country and wish you God’s continued blessings.”
Moreover, he also extended his thanks and congratulations to all those women who were honoured during a brief ceremony held on Wednesday. The awardees include:

Antonia Yankey- Owner, Radical Faith Home Care
In his next post, he wished Happy International Day to women by writing, “Happy International Women’s Day to the superwomen in our lives! Today, we honour your achievements and contributions to the stability and growth of our country.”
Moreover, Dominica also celebrated grace and intelligence, and he also thanked the strength and resilience and women who work in their respective fields in order to uplift and uphold society.
Many other Cabinet Ministers attended the honouring ceremony of women, and Minister of Housing Melissa Skerrit also participated as a parliamentary representative for Roseau Central.
Housing Minister Melissa Skerrit also extended her wishes via social media, and she wrote,”Today on International Women’s Day I would like to extend my gratitude to and acknowledgement of the many hard-working, diligent, and inspirational women who make up the fabric of Dominica.
