Zambia: Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa, Mazuba Monze has extended his appreciation to the Zambia Defense Force. He applauded the officers of the army for exhibiting hard work and professionalism in their duty.
She relayed the sentiments of the people of South Africa, who admire the country’s professionalism and dedication. Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa said that the Defense Force protects not only its people but also other nationalities.
High Commissioner Mazuba said this during a luncheon hosted by the Zambian Embassy in South Africa.
She noted that South Africans always talk about how professional the Zambian Military personnel are. The country’s people believe that this positive trajectory makes her feel proud of being a Zambian.
Monze has urged the authorities to ensure that they can continue in the spirit of professionalism and hard work. High Commissioner Mazuba Monze said that their dedication will take the country to greater heights.
The Embassy luncheon was hosted by some officers from the Ministry of Defence. The event was led by Permanent Secretary Norman Chipakupaku. The Ministry of Defence representatives are in South Africa to attend the 10th session of the Zambia-South Africa Joint Defence Committee meeting.
“As a Zambian I feel very happy and proud to be associated with people who work so hard like you. When I heard you coming, I was so excited because I wanted to deliver this message,” please let us continue on this journey,” she said.
The High Commissioner of Zambia to South Africa, Mazuba, also asked the Zambian Military personnel to assist President Hakainde Hichilema in combating the dry spell. Due to the lack of rain, the country has been facing a drought.
The High Commissioner noted that the combating of the drought situation needs concerted efforts from all stakeholders. She further said the drought is not only being experienced in Zambia but other countries are also affected.
Further, the Ministry of Defense Staff Officer, Christopher Himalowa promised that the defense force will continue making Zambia proud by working hard and in accordance with the law.
“In your early remarks, your excellency, you commended the Zambian defence force for our hard work. We want to assure you that this trajectory will continue so that we put mother Zambia on international standards where military work is concerned,” Himalowa said.
