Botswana: The Botswana Housing Corporation met with stakeholders in the Maun and Boteti Districts to discuss the upcoming development opportunities. The organization has been working diligently to ensure they can construct more housing units for the people.
The representatives of the Botswana Housing Corporation met the stakeholders and partners of the organization in Maun and Boteti. They informed the partners that BHC will be starting a mixture of 100 low, medium and high income houses in Matlapana, Maun.
Further, they also informed the partners that plans are already advanced to kickstart 30 low-income houses in Rakops village. The BHC noted that the initiative will help alleviate the village’s accommodation shortage.
Furthermore, the Corporation is finalising requirements to inject 72 housing units in Letlhakane village. The village is also facing a shortage of accommodation, particularly among public servants, which needs to be addressed.
The Acting Deputy CEO-Operations, Batanani Nkhumisang, did the engagements. During the consultations with the stakeholders, the BHC noted that the government is happy with the project.
The Acting Deputy CEO-Operations, Batanani Nkhumisang reiterated Government commitment to ensure that these developments are awarded to 100% citizen owned contractors. The officials have shared the glimpses from the event on their social media.
During the stakeholders meeting, Botswana Housing Corporation discussed the project’s history and significance. The stakeholders were given insight into the mandate and why its construction projects are important for the district.
The officials have also shared that they are looking into the future aspects of the projects. The Botswana Housing Corporation representatives shared their plans for the 100 new constructions using images and a presentation.
Further, the stakeholders were also given the site location, plan and overview of the site that has been selected for the project. The people of the district are extremely happy with the efforts of the organization in dealing with the accommodation shortage.
