Botswana: The Kweneng District Council has successfully concluded the community edition of the Mr and Miss RADP Pageant and fashion show. The 2024 edition of the Mr and Miss RADP Pageant for the Kweneng District was hosted at the Loologane Settlement.
The event is to serve a precursor to the main event which will be hosted on the National Level. The pageant is being hosted in several other districts of Botswana.
The officials of the Kweneng District Council have shared the images from the event on their social media. The organization has shared that the pageant has been one of the outlet for the creatives of the nation.
The officials have shared that the event was attended by several high level officials from the district officers. They have shared that the pageant featured two categories: Traditional Category and the Suit/Dress Category.
The youngsters shared that it is the responsibility of the stakeholders to encourage the people of the nation to follow their dreams. The officials have shared that the pageant is hosted every year with the winners of the various district edition compete in the national event.
In the Traditional category, judges evaluated the participating contestants based on appearance. They were also judged on the basis of confidence, creativity, and content.
In the Suit/Dress category, the judges assessed their contestants on the basis of their smile, walk, and overall appearance. The winners of the competition, as well as the runners up will be the recipients of several notable prizes.
The winners received prize money of P500 each. The second runners-up were awarded P300, while contestants who placed third also received P300. Consolation prizes of P100 were given to those who did not make it into the Top 4.
This competition aims to discover and nurture talent within Kweneng District settlements, boost the self-esteem of local youth, and provide them with opportunities comparable to those available in urban areas.
The people of the community have extended their congratulatory message for the winners. They hoped that the winners will continue to make the district proud in thee national edition of the event.
