Nigeria: Delegates from the Republic of Nigeria has arrived in St. Kitts and Nevis as part of AFRI-Caribbean Cultural Exchange initiative. Arrival of the Air Peace flight is an important step in deepening ties between Africa and the Caribbean.
This initiative follows the signing of two landmark Memoranda of Understanding (MOU), which occurred earlier in 2025, which mainly focused on advancing cooperation in Agriculture and the Creative Economy.
The historic moment was observed at St. Kitts Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport. The very first 777-300 touched down the twin-island federation. Air Peace flew non-stop from Lagos Nigeria.
From an aviation point of view the larger 300 series of the 777 family never landed there before, and this was for the very first time. Earlier, shorter 777-200ER variant from British Airways used to fly from Nigeria to St. Kitts and Nevis.
Considering this, the Nigerian delegates received a warm and vibrant welcome at the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport, with cultural displays that celebrated the rich heritage of St. Kitts and Nevis.
The visitors were greeted by the officials of St. Kitts and Nevis such as the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Resources, Sports, Small Business, Entrepreneurship, Cooperatives and the Creative Economy – Samal Duggins. He cordially welcomed the delegation to the twin-island federation and took care of their comfort and hospitality.
During this stay, the delegates of Nigeria will participate in a dynamic programme of events that are designed to foster mutual exchange and collaboration. The exchange programme included activities such as a Business Expo, an International Friendly Football Match, an Agri and MSME Technical Business Workshop, and a series of cultural workshops that aims at promoting shared heritage and innovation across sectors.
Deputy Prime Minister Denzil Lewellyn Douglas also acknowledged the visit of Nigeria delegates and shared the glimpse on his official social media handle and marked this as a significant visit in the history of St. Kitts and Nevis.
