Dominica is named as “Best Caribbean Holiday Destination” for 2025 by BBC Travel. The country secured the top position in the ranking due to the natural beauty and magnificent offerings, as per the BBC.
The latest edition of BBC Travel enlightens about the four best Caribbean places that were travelled this year by the people. Along with it they provided strong reasons to choose those places.
BBC Travel said that Dominica is on everyone’s list due to their responsible tourism, luxurious services and vibes, “These often-overlooked escapes set a new standard for elevated, responsible tourism – while still delivering luxurious, laid-back vibes.”
According to the UK based publication, Dominica remains favourite travel destination for many reasons. Its natural beauty and desire to breathe in clean environment captivates travellers towards it.
The article published by BBC also talked about other Caribbean regions and noted that their offerings always make travellers to come and spend their time. It noted that crystal-clear water of Turks and Caicos. Antigua’s UNESCO inscribes dockyard is another place that attracts a great and good number of tourists.
The list has been shared by Amelia Edelman of US, who is a journalist and family travel expert. She has travelled to 40 countries and 49 states. She has dedicated her life to exploring the world mostly with her two kids.

Amelia said that there are few places in the world where she felt so ‘away from it all’ and the jungles of Dominica are one of them. And that is why Dominica, is known as ‘The Nature Island’, it is one of those least developed places and covered with forests, that is on a mission to become the world’s first climate-resilient nation.
Located in south of Guadeloupe and north of Martinique in the eastern Caribbean, Amelia eulogise Dominica for being home to rainforests and volcanic landscapes, that includes hot springs, showcase vibrant culture of the Kalinago people, who are originally known as Caribs.
Development made through these years
Amelia acknowledged the development made by Dominica through all these years to improve the travel facility for its tourists and passengers. She outlined that earlier it was difficult to reach Dominica, but now in 2025, it is easily reachable in with non-stop availability of direct flights from Miami International Airport on American Airlines and a new weekly United Airlines flight from Newark Liberty International Airport.
Furthermore, the country aims to expand its accessibility for travellers, especially with disabilities. The objective includes Cable Car System to reach the famous Boiling Lake in the UNESCO inscribed Morne Trois Pitons National Park.
Most visited places in Dominica
Well Dominica has various sites that are must recommended, but there some places which excites visitors most than other. As seasoned trekkers can spend a few weeks by going on a trek to the 185 km Waitukubuli National Trail, which is the longest hiking trail in Caribbean.
The World’s first Sperm Whale Reserve is another greatest attraction that protects 800 sq km marine area off the western coast in Dominica. The travellers can visit to feed and nurse as many as 500 sperm whales between November and March.
