Dominica: Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit joined the PM Philip J. Piere of Saint Lucia to attend the swearing-in ceremony for beginning a new term of national service.
He shared his photographs from the visit and quoted on his official social media handle that he is Saint Lucia for the swearing-in of Prime Minister Philip J. Piere, as he begins a new term of service to his people.
PM Piere expressed gratitude and acknowledged the presence of Prime Minister Skerrit, appreciating their close friendship and longstanding partnership, he stated that he welcomes his dear friend and comrade to Saint Lucia as the nation’s 9th person and 12th Prime Minister.
Piere noted that this visit reflects the strong ties between Dominica and Saint Lucia, grounded in a shared commitment to advance people-centered development across the Caribbean.
Prime Minister of Saint Lucia stated that presence of Dr. Skerrit is a testament to the deep friendship between the two countries and the shared commitment to putting people first across the Caribbean.
Both the leaders reaffirmed their dedication to regional cooperation and collective progress as they continue working together for the betterment of their citizens and the wider Caribbean community. They stated that together they will continue to move forward for the progress of the people and the nation.
While taking the oath, PM Piere expressed that he is excited and optimistic about the future of Saint Lucia. He pledged to do his best for the development of his country. He accepted the mantle of Prime Minister with humility and honour for a second term with responsibility for the Ministry of Finance, National Security & Justice, Constituency Development & People Empowerment.
The swearing-in ceremony for Saint Lucia Prime Minister was observed on Dec 05, 2025 at the Government House in Castries. During the ceremony, PM Philip J. Piere will took oath at office to lead Saint Lucia into 2026. He was re-elected on Dec 01, 2025 with a commanding 14-seat majority for the Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP).
