Recently, the cold fronts in August 2026 have brought heavy snow to Lesotho, blanketing the Maloti Mountains and local villages like Mokhotlong and Qaxha’s Nek in deep white snow. As the highest sovereign state in Africa, sitting entirely above 1,000 meters, the ‘Kingdom in the Sky’ regularly experience freezing winter temperatures and draws visitors to regional winter spots like the Afriski Mountain Resort.
