They have been urged to stay in their houses for the duration of the severe weather warning. If anyone has to step out of their houses for an emergency, they have been urged to dress in warm clothes.
The officials have urged that the safety of the people is a major priority for them As such, they have asked people to refrain from crossing rivers, driving on snow covered roads. In case of drop in temperature, the people have been urged to dress warm and cover their mouths.
They said that crossing rivers is also dangerous as in case of rains, rivers and low lying areas can fill up quickly. This can lead to flooding and accidents in several low lying areas.
This will, according to the officials protect their lungs from cold air and affecting respiration. The officials have also announced that the people have to ensure that they have to make sure that they have all the gear needed for their safety.
The vehicles that people are using, must also be up to par with the safety standards set by the government and ready for a slippery road. In case of adverse weather driving, people are urged to reduce the speed of their vehicle and maintain and safe distance from vehicles.
This will help in ensuring that the number of weather related road accidents can be reduced and eventually prevented entirely
