Africa: Africa Weather Forecast launched its weekly summary (26 June – 02 July 2023); as per African weather reports, Fine and cool with abundant sunshine across most of the interior, periodically partly cloudy in the coastal provinces, with light showers in the south on Tuesday but in the southwest on Saturday.

A weak cold front in the far west today (Monday) will be passing along the south coast on Tuesday, inciting strong NW winds along the Western Cape and Northern Cape border this afternoon, while light rainfall is expected along the south coast on Tuesday.

Otherwise, the interior will remain fine and cool but periodically cloudy, cold and wet over the coastal provinces midweek.

Later in the week, when the high extends more towards the Indian Ocean, increased moisture results in a medium chance of fog patches along the Lowveld and a colder airmass being advected into the North Eastern parts, dropping temperatures further down on Wednesday.

Although most of the country will remain dry throughout the week until Friday, a cold front in the southwest promises partly cloudy skies and light rainfall over the western Western Cape but moderate in the far southwest.

As it moves east and into more of the Cape interior, the cold front is expected to drop light to moderate rainfall on Saturday, light and confined to the south coast on Sunday. Otherwise, the rest of the country will also remain calm throughout the weekend.

From 30 June to 12 July, a high-pressure cell replacing the recent intense rainfall-producing systems is anticipated to bring clear skies into the interior while keeping the coastal and northeastern regions cloudy to partly cloudy.

FRIDAY: Partly cloudy over Western Cape and the south coast, with a medium chance of light morning rainfall in the southwest. Otherwise, fine and cold to cool elsewhere but warm in the northeast.

SATURDAY: Bitterly cold at first over the central and eastern interior, with widespread frost persisting and expanding northeast. Otherwise, fine and cool over the central interior but partly cloudy over Western Cape, southeast coast and the north-eastern parts.

SUNDAY: Fine and cool but becoming slightly warm during the day over more of the northeast.
